                                          Radiologic Technologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Radiologic technologists can also specialize in specific areas of the radiology field such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), sonography, mammography, computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy. Specializing in one or more areas can improve employment opportunities and earning potential.

Salary: $58,120

Education: They may earn certificates, associate's degrees or bachelor's degrees in radiology to be eligible for employment in the U.S.; however, most radiology technicians enter the career with associate's degrees. The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology accredits radiography programs and schools.

Demand for this particular career: Overall employment of radiologic and MRI technologists is projected to grow 13 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. As the population grows older, there will be an increase in medical conditions that require imaging as a tool for making diagnoses.
