Duties and Responsibilities:  work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. ... Social communication disorders are also found individuals with other conditions, such as traumatic brain injury.

Salary: $73,410

Education: Earn a Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.

Demand or need for this particular career: Employment of speech-language pathologists is projected to grow 18 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations. As the large baby-boom population grows older, there will be more instances of health conditions that can cause speech or language impairments, such as strokes or dementia.
